There's the age gap, and also the species gap if the size of her neck on the cover is anything to go by. The fact that it's a romance between a starry-eyed waif and a mysterious giraffe witch makes it extra taboo.
Sincerely though, I'm totally into it.

The mystery and ambiguity in the characters’ identities is appealing. The style of artwork to differentiate between characters is unique to me... well done.
The introductory chapter holds my interest for follow-on chapters and I do like seeing how long this manga will be in total.

Yeah
That's what I was thinking too. Meh, well it doesn't matter. The art style is quite unique in respect to all the other works I've read, plus not knowing much about the characters themselves holds my interest. Wonder if Azuma will show up at the cafe again to write and a "friendly relationship" blooms

It's not just you. This one rubs me the wrong way, though. Carol's a longer narrative, or at least we got more of it in a single sitting than this. But, even so, a lot of implications are made here in this one meeting. Yuki's just being a shy servant and is admiring someone she respects from afar. Beniko, however, is an older woman, a person of renown/authority, and just decides to pursue Yuki. The way she's going about it is weird, too, with her cryptic speech and dominating each of their interactions. Not to mention there's the whole "dating a fan" dynamic happening here. Beniko just comes off as predatory to me, and it's not just the age gap. Beloved L is one of my favorite stories ever, so I don't really care about age gap on principle. I have a problem with certain dynamics that use that age gap as anything more than coincidence. Beniko is clearly utilizing her higher authority to create some level of control over her target. And I do mean target, because her actions seemed rather pointed since she entered the cafe. Every action she makes is deliberate. Then, she has the creepy scene describing Yuki's skin and how pretty she is. Considering Yuki's disposition and (perhaps no coincidental) similarities to Beniko's book character, I think Beniko is viewing Yuki more as a doll or something to own rather than a person she's trying to woo.
I'm getting Carol vibes, but not the good kind. Will continue to read, but this chapter made me uncomfortable.

this is one of those things i would hate if it was het but like... i'm a dumb-ass lesbian who likes older women and i'm feeling like a hypocrite today. Looks good so far. Hopefully it gets better/if Yuki ends up being like 14 or something i'm most probably going to drop it though. that would be too much.

This has what I call the "Yaoi dynamic", a romance with one lover who's small and meek, and another lover who's strong and sexually intimidating.

Hm.... Somehow the art style is familiar to me... Even though it's this author's first manga here. Where have I seen this art before?

Omg, they’re translating this!! I’m so happy! I follow and liked all this artist’s work. On Twitter and Pixiv. All of this artist’s work are age gaps so you’ll get use to it sooner or later. These 2 are part of the more innocent and tamed group. Can’t wait for more

I'll keep an eye on this. Doesn't seem so bad. The art styles weird to me but then I watched that anime with the gems, KILL La KILL, and Little witch Acdemia. They all have weird art styles. So I'm sure I'll get used to it.
