Talk about an awkward TV moment! Joy Behar managed to leave Jamie Lee Curtis absolutely stunned—and blushing—during Tuesday morning’s episode of The View. What was supposed to be a normal chat about Curtis’s new film turned into a viral laugh fest few viewers saw coming.
It all started when Curtis joined the Hot Topics table to promote her upcoming movie Ella McKay. While chatting about her Thanksgiving holiday, she cheerfully mentioned that she had just learned how to spatchcock a turkey—a cooking technique that involves removing the backbone of the bird so it cooks more evenly. Describing the method in colorful detail, Curtis called it “gross and violent,” prompting Behar to jokingly interject, “Let’s just drop this whole topic.” But the real comedy was still ahead.
Later in the discussion, as the hosts switched gears to talk about Curtis’s role as Donna Berzatto in FX’s critically acclaimed series The Bear, Behar couldn’t resist letting her mischievous side loose. With a grin, she asked if Curtis had learned “how to cook—other than spatchcocking.”
Curtis playfully replied, “You know, I’m a marital cook. I’m a maternal cook, meaning I didn’t learn.” But before she could continue, Behar delivered the zinger that threw everyone off balance: “She spatchcocks her husband.”
The line sent the studio into laughter and applause, while Curtis sat momentarily frozen, wide-eyed and slightly red-faced. After collecting herself, she quipped through laughter, “We should go on the road, babe.” A second later, she admitted, “Um, wow. I’m actually blushing—and I don’t blush.” The audience couldn’t get enough of the hilarious exchange.
Co-host Sunny Hostin quickly tried to steer the conversation back to Ella McKay, asking if they could talk about the film again. Curtis, still amused, said gratefully, “Thank you, Sunny.” Thankfully, the interview ended on a friendly note, with Curtis reaching over to take Behar’s hand and smiling warmly.
If this sounds like a wild episode—it’s hardly the first time Curtis has brought chaos to The View. Back in 2024, she showed up bearing gifts and jokingly introduced herself as “Scrooge’s slightly slutty sister,” prompting Behar to raise an eyebrow and tease, “Slightly?” Curtis, ever the good sport, shot back, “Hey now! I’m an old married lady—you know how it goes. But sure, I’ve got a little Scrooge in me.”
The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC, and with moments like these, it’s no wonder audiences can’t stop watching. But here’s a question for you—did Behar’s joke cross the line, or was it all in good fun between friends? Drop your thoughts in the comments—this one’s sure to split opinions!
